Paint-Out This Sunday 5/31

Paint-Out at Ellis Creek

Come out Sunday morning and paint! The Petaluma Museum is hosting a plein air paint-out this Sunday, May 31st. Open to all skill levels, this will be a low pressure way to observe the wetlands and connect with other artists and the Petaluma community.

Ellis Creek will always hold a special place in my art journey. It's where Camille Przewodek taught me to paint plein air, and we spent many Mondays there together. I still feel her presence when I return.

Over the past few years I've done several paintings of the landscape there. Here are some of my favorites.

Coming Up: Art at the Source

Sebastopol Center for the Arts presents their spring open studios event, Art at the Source. For over 30 years this event has been connecting artists to collectors, art lovers and supporters and this will be my first time participating in the event. Both weekends in June, I will have my studio doors open for friends and new visitors alike to see the space, check out some of my current works and see what I have in progress. Looking forward to it!

Petaluma Peach Tree

Petaluma Museum and Beyond Good things are happening in a small corner of Northern California. My work is being featured in a group show at the Petaluma Museum! This spring also brings a Warehouse District event and two consecutive weekends of Sonoma County open studios. A friend told me recently that my paintings made her want to hop in the car, drive through Petaluma and out to the coast. That's everything, honestly. This year I want to spend less time online and more time painting the...
